Katy Hart, Karen Koback and Jackie Cowan. Karen won the Chesapeake Play Day 2010

The North American Plantation Classic (NAPC) is a fabulous versatility gaited horse show that runs Friday and Saturday of Labor Day Weekend at the Diamond 7 Arena in Dillsburg, Pa.  The Pennsylvania Pleasure Walking Horse Association (www.PPWHA.org) has fine-tuned this show to offer a wide variety of classes for all 4-beat gaited horses and different levels of rider experience.  In addition to rail classes in many divisions, the show includes:

Rail classes for novice and /or adult beginner and youth riders

       Trail Obstacle

Gaming classes — barrels, pole bending

Dressage classes – from beginner’s potential to upper levels

       Jumping

       Western Reining

       Driving

       Costume

       Side Saddle

       Musical Free Style

Sip champagne while you watch the very special Carousel of Horses

Take your chances to win at Pig Toss

Over-night stabling and camping with a barn party for all after the show Saturday night

Last year the Chesapeake Play Day was introduced on Saturday of the show with a special prize donated by Jacquie and Gatsby to the Chesapeake Member with the highest cumulative points from these versatility classes.  Katy Hart won this Chesapeake award last year – it was her first show

On Sunday we gather at Artillery Ridge for a very special guided historical trail ride through the battlefields of Gettysburg with our own expert, Sam Fuson.  This year we’re going to do it all again – more details will be forthcoming here and in  the newsletter and the Club BLOG.  In the mean time you may contact Jacquie for more insight to the show, the special Club award, and how to prepare.  We can even schedule a practice get-together over the summer … 410-923-6157.
