Feb. 2…Sat … CHOCOLATE, CHEESE and WINE TRAIL RIDE and LUNCHEON …ride, eat, and celebrate Sunday’s Super Bowl with friends…conditions permitting we’ll take a short ride on easy trails suitable for barefoot or out of shape horses and cold temps; then retire to the house for the Three C’s – Chocolate, Cheese and Cheer that everyone will bring to share…Arrival 11:00 / Riding at 11:30…Eat at 1:30.. Chesapeake club will hold our annual Thanksgiving Saturday ride at the Manassas Battlefield on November 24, 2012 .. these easy trails are beautifully managed by the Battlefield Equestrian Society and wind their way through about 3 hours worth of woods and fields of this famous Civil War battle park … the Visitor Center has an historical film well worth taking in when you stop for your park pass (be sure to allow ample time please) … we will be joined this year by members of the Old Dominion Gaited Horse Association

- Parking at the Brownsville Trailer Parking lot on Groveton Rd with picnic area and restrooms (new to us)

- parade begins and ends at the trailer parking
- the club has paid our registration fee
- in order to participate you must complete our registration form and turn in with your coggins to our coordinator, Suzanne Anderson by November 23
- 10:00 am check in with Suzanne on site — look for the club banner
10:30 am line up
- 11:00 am parade starts
- attire: decorate you and your horse in your festive holiday outfits (antlers, santa hats, bells, garland, etc)
- banner carriers and side walkers are needed too
- parade particulars:
- we will ride as a club group keeping a safe distance between (20-30 feet) between us and the group in front
- we must stay in our line-up order in order to be judged
- we may not throw candy or other objects into the crowds
- we must keep our horses under control at all times
- judges will be stationed across from the Lisbon Park on Rt 144
- awards will be given out 1/2 hour after parade completion
- food will be available for purchase at the staging area, town grille and fire department (or bring your own)

The league has cancelled their invitational event, but we (chesapeake) will still plan to hold our novice horse camp and club trail ride saturday …. cost will be lomh regular camp fees — $8 / $12 with electric …. everyone will bring their own meals, camp and horse care equipment including protable corral or high line …. real showers and bathrooms … rsvp directly to Jacquie at email@example.com / 410-923-6157
